Florence I. Towers

Florence I. Towers, 80, of the Lutheran Home & Rehabilitation Center, formerly of Church Street, East Randolph, passed away, Friday, July 1, 2016, in the nursing center.

She was born Aug. 10, 1935, in Gerrittsville, Ohio, the daughter of the late Wayne L. and Viola (Short) Bancroft.

Florence attended the Warren G. Harding High School in Warren, Ohio. She was a career employee of the Cattaraugus County Administrators office in Little Valley, where she worked as an auditor.

Flo was a former member of the Randolph Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 2273 and enjoyed knitting, crocheting, gardening and reading.

She is survived by a son; Brian Towers of Palm Bay, Fla., two daughters; Janet (Randy) Carlson of Randolph and Patricia “Trish” (Greg) Waters of Jacksonville, Fla., 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She is additionally survived by two brothers; Wayne Lee Bancroft and William Bancroft and a sister; Claudia Bancroft.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Terry Towers.

The family will receive family and friends from 5-7 p.m., Wednesday (July 6, 2016) in the Van Rensselaer & Son Funeral Home, 14 Church Street, Randolph, NY 14772.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday in the funeral home. The Rev. David Golden, pastor of the Randolph Faith Bible Chapel will officiate. Inurnment will be in the Myrtle Cemetery, Kennedy.
