Elaine D. Luton
Elaine D. Luton, 86, of Largo, Fla., formerly of Swede Hill in Jamestown, passed away, Friday, June 10, 2016, at the Mease Countryside Hospital in Safety Harbor, Fla.
A Jamestown native, she was born April 15, 1930, the daughter of the late Harry and Beda Peterson Medley, and graduated from Jamestown High School in 1948.
In earlier years, she was employed by Woolworth’s and Quality Cash Market. Elaine then worked for Jamestown Rubber Stamp Company for over 30 years. Following her retirement and move to Florida in 1986, she worked part time at several locations, including the Liquidation Station, Candy Factory, Twig Benders, Sunset Point Preschool and McDonalds until 2010.
Elaine was baptized, confirmed and married in First Lutheran Church. She married her late husband, Darrell K. Luton, on Jan. 16, 1960. He died Dec. 26, 1970.
She is survived by a daughter, Darla, and son-in-law David Warner of Clearwater, Fla.; three grandchildren: David Warner of Largo, Fla., Danielle Warner of Clearwater, Fla. and Jason Luton of Bemus Point, N.Y.; and three great-grandchildren: Natalie Marie Warner and Nathan David Warner of Largo, and Amy Lynn Kelley of Clearwater.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, July 11, 2016, in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Daniel K. Nagle will officiate. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 1-3 p.m., Sunday, July 10, 2016, in the Lind Funeral Home.
A Celebration of Life gathering will take place from 7-10 p.m., Sunday evening, July 10, at the Vikings Lodge Lake Park in Maple Springs.
