Bradley Anderson

Bradley Anderson, 91, of Montgomery Texas, passed away Aug. 30, 2015.

A former Portland resident, Brad was the creator and cartoonist of the syndicated comic, Marmaduke.

A Memorial Service will be held in his honor at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 2, 2016, at the Portland Congregational Church, 8849 Church St.. Portland, New York. The Rev. Gordon Spiller will officiate the service.

Prior to the memorial service, his ashes will be laid to rest at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 2, at the Portland Evergreen Ceme- tery in Portland, N.Y. A Masonic graveside service will be provided by The Carroll Lodge 1147 F&AM of Frewsburg, N.Y. That will be followed by The 33rd Degree memorial service conducted by The 33rd Degree members of The Valley of Jamestown A.A.S.R. At the conclusion of the Masonic services, full military honors will be accorded to Brad by The American Legion John W. Dill Post 434 of Brocton, New York. The American flag will be presented to his wife, Barbara by Chaplin Fran Lus. A dedication ceremony for the Brad Anderson and Marmaduke statue will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, July 2, 2016, at the Portland Town Hall, 87 W. Main St., Brocton, N.Y.

All are welcome to attend this great honor and celebration of a former member of our community. Local funeral services for the family were provided by The Morse Funeral Home of Brocton, N.Y.
