Charlotte R. MacLaughlin

Charlotte R. MacLaughlin, of Gooseneck Rd., West Valley, died Wednesday April 20, 2016, at her home at the age of 87.

She was born July 22, 1928, in Bradford, Pa., a daughter of the late Joseph Elmer and Esther N. (nee Montaque) Little. She was a graduate of Springville Griffith Institute and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Red Hat Society, a euchre card club and had served on the West Valley Board of Elections. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Springville and loved homemaking and crocheting.

Her husband – Donald MacLaughlin whom she married Sept. 29, 1946, died April 25, 1995.

She is survived by her children – Dennis (Janet) MacLaughlin of Ark City, KS, Daniel (Violet) MacLaughlin of Randolph, Sandra (Doug) Franke of Marion, N.Y., Jim (Debbie) Bradley of Canandaigua; five grandchildren – Eric MacLaughlin, Tara Morrison, Dana Pence, William Bradley, Daniel Bradley; 11 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister – Norma Sebdza, grandson – Scott MacLaughlin and grand-daughter – Kelley Jo MacLaughlin.

Friends may call Sunday, April 24, from 4-8 p.m. at SMITH-WEISMANTEL FUNERAL HOME, 271 E. Main St., Springville, where funeral services will be held Monday, April 25, at 11 am. Interment will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, West Valley.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sandra Franke, P.O. Box 210, Marion, NY 14505 for distribution to Charlotte’s favorite charities – Scott MacLaughlin Endowment Fund, Kelley Jo MacLaughlin Scholarship Fund or Randolph American Legion.
