He was born in Jamestown, N.Y., on June 19, 1975, the son of Gregory Darling, Geraldine Kitts and stepfather Gerald Rasmussen, all of Jamestown.

Mickey had a passion for music, creative writing and dancing. He had a special trade in sales involving various distributors. Non Stop Music Entertainment will always appreciate the loyal customers and their recommendations. He respected the shadows of Nighty Night, Mike Nice, Chris Jackson, Jake and Max. He was the protector of family and friends. His heart unmeasurable. Also, during his high school years, Mickey excelled at track, football and basketball.

Besides his parents, Mickey is survived by his daughters: Brianna and Adrianna Darling; siblings: Greg Darling, Randy Rasmussen, Kristina Near, Melissa Darling, Julie Darling and Megan Tilyou; aunts and uncles: Diane and Paul, Keith and Cindy, David and Bonnie, Ronnie and Judy, Bobby and Carol, Mike and Sharon Darling and Charles and Judy Darling, all of Jamestown; and several nieces and nephews.

Mickey was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Veronica Kitts; and paternal grandmother, Marie Darling.

A celebration of Mickey’s life will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 27, 2016, in the New Creation Assembly of God Church. The Rev. Dale Keefer will officiate. Friends will be received two hours prior to the service.
