John W. Booth
PALMETTO, Fla. – John W. Booth of Palmetto, Fla., passed away Dec. 26, 2015, unexpectedly at his home of natural causes.
He was born Oct. 22, 1974, in Jamestown, N.Y., the son of Robert and Kathy M. (Hilliman-Booth) Maddox. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert; mother, Kathy; his paternal grandparents, Kenneth and Joyce Booth; his maternal grandmother, Yoko Hilliman; and a sister, Monica Veres.
He is survived by his wife, the former Lisa Michelle Whitfield of Bradenton, Fla; two daughters: Hannah Marie and Emily Noel, also of Bradenton, Fla.; two sisters:, Naomi A. (Maddox) Gennings of West Valley, N.Y.. and Christina C. Maddox of Jamestown, N.Y; three brothers: Chris Veres of Cassadaga, N.Y., William Booth of Jamestown, N.Y., and James Booth of Jamestown, N.Y.; his maternal grandfather, Adelbert G. Hilliman of Little Valley, N.Y.; his stepmother, Deborah Booth of Jamestown, N.Y.; his stepfather, William Maddox of Mississippi; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
John served in the U.S. Marine Corps from Feb. 2. 1993, to Feb. 1, 1996, with the Third Battalion (his reserve termination obligation was Jan. 13, 2001).
John was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved the outdoors and nature. He had a large collection of guns and enjoyed reading and learning about the history of guns.
A memorial services and a luncheon put on by the Moose Auxiliary Ladies will be held at the Ran-dolph Moose from 2-4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 16, 2016.
