Robert “Bob” J. Fuller
Robert (Bob) J. Fuller, 86, of Falconer, N.Y., passed away at home surrounded by his family on Saturday, Nov. 7. Bob was born in Dunkirk, N.Y., on Dec. 13, 1928, to J. Sherman and Julienne Spinnewyn Fuller.
He was a 1946 graduate of Falconer High School. He attended Alfred University, then to National Hard-wood Lumber Inspection School in Memphis, Tenn.
After college he served in the U.S. Army as a Ser-geant in Korea from March 1953-55
He always worked in the Furniture Industry. He start-ed at Jamestown Sterlingworth Corporation and later helped to begin the Randolph Dimension Corpora-tion with Leland and Gary Peterson, where he worked for 35 years until his retirement. Over the years, he made several beautiful handcrafted wooden projects for his family and friends.
He truly enjoyed spending time with his family at his summer camp in Ellery Center. He was a terrific swimmer and loved playing in the pond with his family.
He loved serving the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, where he served on Church Council several years many times as Vice President. He was the first Liturgical Deacon to serve at the church and continued on until he became ill. He was superintendent of the Pine Hill Cemetery for 15 years. He was very ac-tive in the Thule Lodge 127 Vasa Order of America serving as Chairman and recently as trustee. He was also a member of the Vik-ing Lodge 65. He was active in the Scandinavian Folk Festival and belonged to the American Swedish Heritage Foundation. He was the secretary of the Falconer Businessman’s Bowling League and enjoyed his Tuesday night bowling.
He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Fanchon Peterson Fuller whom he married April 14, 1951. His three children Stephanie (Joseph) Buccola, Peter (Jane) Fuller of Falconer and Julie (Robert) Pickett of Jamestown. He loved all of his grandchildren, Joe and Michelle Buccola, Karen and Matthew Fuller, Steven and Alex Pickett. He also had four great-grandchildren, Bradyn, Chase, Brody and Makayla. He is survived by a brother, John (Diane) Fuller of Kings Mountain, N.C., and a sister-in-law, Caryl Mattison of Falconer and several nieces and nephews whom he loved. He was also a father to four foreign exchange students who he continued contact with over the years with them and their families.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Lois Willis.
The funeral will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 11 at 11 a.m. at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Falconer. Pastor Timothy Hoyer will officiate. Burial will be in the Pine Hill Cemetery. Friends will be received at the Falconer Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m.
