Harriett A. “Cookie” Larson

Harriett A. Larson, 82, of Jamestown, passed away Sunday (Sept. 6, 2015) in Buffalo General Hospital.

A lifelong area resident, she was born July 26, 1933, in the town of Ellery and was the daughter of the late William Cook and Jessie Elwell Cook.

Harriett was a graduate of Falconer High School and was employed by Falconer Central School as a bus driver for 25 years, retiring in 1994.

She was a member of the Herman Kent Post American Legion Auxiliary, Randolph Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, Home Bureau and Mothers Club.

Harriett enjoyed spending time with family and friends and was an avid reader. She also enjoyed cats, animals, listening to music and local area bands.

Surviving are her four children: David Cook of East Aurora, N.Y., Randall (Mary) Cook of Kiantone,

Cynthia (Bruce) Durfee of Jamestown, and Barbara Colburn of Randolph; three grandchildren: Kathleen (Aaron) Mueller of Randolph, and Mackenzie Cook and Jordan Cook, both of East Aurora; four stepgrandchildren: Melissa Krofka of Frewsburg, Zachary Stahlsmith and Adam Stahlsmith, both of Kiantone, and Sandra Durfee Haley of Jamestown; a great-granddaughter, Ava Krofka of Frewsburg; her sister, Merry Ellen (Alwin) Strout of Mechanic Falls, Maine; and her best friends: Claudia Shaw and Jean White, both of Jamestown.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gunnar E. Larson, whom she married Jan. 20, 1973, and who died Jan. 30, 2004; a son, James Cook; and a brother, John Cook.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Thursday in the Falconer Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home. Deacon Michael Lennon of St. James

Catholic Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Myrtle Cemetery, town of Poland, N.Y.
