Delia A. Roberts
Delia A. Roberts, 83, formerly of Bemus Point, passed away Tuesday (April 14, 2015) in Memory Gardens, W.E. Jamestown.
A lifelong area resident, she was born Aug. 17, 1931, in Jamestown, the daughter of Ray B. and Gladys Virginia McLallen Roberts.
She attended Cassadaga Valley High School and was a graduate of James-town Community College. In earlier years, Delia was employed by Murphy’s Department Store, Bigelow’s Department Store, Heritage Village Health Care Center and prior to retirement was self- employed as a home health aide.
Delia enjoyed ceramics and traveling, especially to Arizona and Florida.
Surviving are a son: Dennis R. Torrey of Jamestown; two daughters: Sandra T. (Tom) Migliore of Falconer, and Brenda T. Hay of North Las Vegas, Nev.; eight grandchildren: Sarah (Brian) Grimm, Katherine (Joseph II) Schaefer, John T. Migliore, Aaron E. (Davor) Dabic, Kristin (Michael) Moffeit, Ken (Kathy) Torrey, Sharon Torrey and Megan Torrey; nine great-grandchildren; and a sister, Anna Lee Peters of Burghill, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by two sons: Steven B. Torrey and David A. Torrey; a daughter, Darlene K. Torrey; three grandsons: Allen Migliore, Jordan Hay and Benjamin Torrey; and two brothers: Rowe and Charles Roberts.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday in the Falconer Funeral Home. The Rev. Timothy D. Phelps, chaplain of Hospice of Chautauqua County, will officiate. Burial will be in the East Randolph Cemetery.
Friends will be received by the family from 2-4 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.
