Effie A. Huber

Effie A. Huber, 92, formerly of Emeritus and 106 Woods Road, Warren, died Thursday, Feb. 5, 2015, in Heritage Green Rehab and Skilled Nursing.

She was born Sept. 23, 1922, in Cleveland, Ohio, a daughter of the late Jack and Candace Donaldson Jacobson.

She was valedictorian of her high school class and following graduation served in the U.S. Army Air Corps as a surgical tech from 1945-46.

While living in Warren, she was employed by her husband at R. E. Huber as a secretary. She earlier had worked for the YMCA in Warren.

She was a superior bowler and the best baker. Her wonderful sense of humor was always present. She was a pistol and made her caregivers at Heritage Green laugh all the time.

Surviving are four children: Karen Towers of Florida, Richard (Jennifer) Huber, Candace Huber and Mark Huber, all of Jamestown; five grandchildren: Tamara (Brent Towsley) Beattie of Casselberry, Fla., James Remhof of Tiltonsville, Ohio, Nate (Kate) Huber of Tampa, Fla., Zach Huber of Fredonia, and Hannah (Caleb) Pletts of Clovis, N.M.; and five great grandchildren: Shayla Goodwin, Laura Huber, Sarah Huber, Ethan Huber and Mia Towsley.

Beisdes her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard E. Huber, whom she married June 17, 1945, and who died Aug. 21, 2002; a grandson, Jonathan Mark Huber; a brother, Charles Jacobson; and two sisters: Klara Jacobson and Emmie Jacobson.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.

Inurnment will be in Warren County Memorial Park.
