A lifelong area resident, he was born Nov. 16, 1930, in Jamestown, N.Y., a son of the late Levi G. and Gertrude Taylor Larson.

Bud was a 1948 graduate of Jamestown High School and served in the New York Army National Guard for ten years.

Before his retirement he was a meatcutter for the former Pearsons Market on Newland Avenue for 38 years.

He was a member of the Bethel Lutheran Church until 1990 and most recently the Pilgrim Memorial United Church of Christ. He was also a member of the Ingjald Lodge 65 Independent Order of the Vikings, Thule Lodge 127 VASA Order of America and was very active in the Boy Scouts of America, having 33 years as a scout explorer advisor and a Scout Leader for Troop 65. He was also very proud of his Swedish Heritage.

Surviving are his wife, Marie “Pedie” Phelps Lar-son, whom he married July 21, 1991; two daughters: Julie (Paul) Elliott of Nampa, Idaho, and Joan (Dave) Hinderer of Panama, N.Y.’ a granddaughter, Megan Hinderer of Panama; step aughter, Karen Hays of Fla. two stepgranddaughters: Maia Hays and Kira Hays both of Florida; a brother, Donald Larson of Absecon, N.J.’ a niece, Ada Larson of Northfield, N.J.; and a brother-in-law, Jerry Lundgren of Jamestown.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, the former Nancy Lundgren Larson, who died Feb. 12, 1988; a brother, Robert M. in 1992; and a sister, Joan Lee in 1933.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m Friday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Dana Douglas, pastor of the Pilgrim Memorial United Church of Christ, will officiate. Burial will be in the Sunset Hill Cemetery.

Friends will be received from 4-8 p.m. Thursday (today) in the Lind Funeral Home.
