Shirley Allene Blood

A resident of Busti for most of her life and recent-ly of Tanglewood Manor, she was the wife of the late Harold Lyle Blood, whom she was married to for 57 years. Shirley passed away on what would have been Harold’s 88th birthday.

She was born Jan. 5, 1934, in Jamestown, the daughter of the late Harry and Virginia Lewis Rasmussen.

For over 17 years, Shirley worked as a cashier at McDonald’s.

Surviving are three children: Kathy (Jim) Swearingen of Midway, Ky., Shaun (Sharon) Blood of Busti and Ginny Tapp of Dunkirk; eight grandchildren: Christopher (Kassie) Swearingen of Busti, Leslie (Andrew) Walters of Youngsville, Pa., Benjamin (Jeannette) Blood of Lakewood, Zachary (Rita) Blood of Celoron, Nicole (Dave) McCauley of Bemus Point, and Cierra Haskins, Tristin Tapp and Cheyanne Tapp, all of Clymer; and six great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Gregory Blood; and two brothers: Roger and Harry Rasmussen.

A memorial service will be held in the spring of 2015 at a time to be announced.
