Elizabeth ‘‘Bette’’ Carlson
Elizabeth ”Bette” Carlson, died Dec. 10, 2014, at Buffalo General Hospital.
Bette was born July 29, 1936, in Jamestown N.Y., the daughter of Connie and Ada Gregg of Dutch Hollow.
She graduated from Bemus Point High School in 1954 and Highland Nursing School, Rochester, N.Y., in 1957.
She married Charles Carlson Jan. 11, 1958. They have three children: Gregg (Carol), Atlanta, Ga., Dan Carlson, Maple Springs and Catherine (Rod) Winston, North Tonawanda; three grandchildren: Maria (Steven) Johnson, Ana (Chad) Updike and Elizabeth Winston; and four great-grandchildren: Liza and Maggie Johnson and Thaddeus and Samuel Updike.
Bette worked as a part-time nurse at WCA Hospital in the 1960s and 1970s, 14 years as a school nurse at Cassadaga Valley Central School, eight years in CCU in Venice, Fla., and six years in maternity in Arcadia, Fla.
She loved her family, job and many friends. She attended many churches from Stockton, N.Y., Arcadia Fla., to Niagara Falls/ Wheatfield Alliance Church. She loved the Lord and kept her light shining.
The funeral will be held at the Stockton Community Church at 11 a.m. Saturday. Visiting will be two hours prior to the funeral. Burial will be in Centralia Cemetery.
