Grace Brown Denton

Grace Brown Denton passed away Sunday, Sept. 14, 2014.

She was born April 5, 1916, to Carrie Bently Bown and Glenn L. Brown.

She was married to Dr. Arthur H. Denton, who passed away April 28, 1997. A devoted wife and mother who loved antiquing, gardening and traveling, Grace graduated from Ellington High School and Jamestown Business College. In early years, she was secretary at the Boy Scout office and assistant manager of the Beneficial Loan Company. After her marriage, she was bookkeeper for Dr. Denton’s office.

She was a former board member of WCA, treasurer of Opti Mrs., treasurer and vice president of Green Thumb and of The Transplants.

She is survived by a son, Jerome A. Denton of Jamestown; a brother, Frank Brown of Randolph; two sisters: Margaret Brown of Kirkwood, N.Y.; and Ruth Brown Frost of Sarasota, Fla.

As per Grace’s wish, there is to be no visitation or memorial. Memorials may be made to the Prendergast Library, Salvation Army or to a charity of choice.
