Wilhelmina E. “Toots” Bargar

Wilhelmina E. “Toots” Bargar, 81, formerly of 66 Lovall Ave., Jamestown, passed away peacefully Thursday, June 26, 2014, at the Lutheran Home and Rehabilitation Center, following a long and coura-geous battle with kidney disease, surrounded by her family.

She was born Sept. 27, 1932, in Pike, N.Y., the daughter of the late Leo and Katherine Ackerman Ellis.

Toots was a 1949 graduate of the former Lakewood High School. For many years, she worked in the office at Art Metal and at Park Cleaners. She was a member of the Lakewood United Methodist Church and their Friendship Circle. Toots enjoyed gardening, loved animals, especially her dogs, and was known for her holiday cooking.

Surviving are her husband, John C. “Jack” Bargar, whom she married Nov. 29, 1952; three sons: Ran-dall (Sheila) Bargar of Warren, Pa., Donald (Diane) Bargar of Nashville, Tenn., and Mark (Beth) Bargar of Jamestown; nine grandchildren: Allison (Don) Sanford, Matthew Bargar, Daniella Comber, Shane Comber, Aaron Bargar, Chad Bargar, Mandi Bargar, Alaina (David) Hasbrouck and Lauren Bargar; three great-grandchildren: Peyton Sanford, Alexis Cunningham and Austin Cunningham; and two sisters: Naomi Pangborn of Jamestown, and Carol Holechek of Elmira, N.Y.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Leonora Feltner; and two brothers: Leo Ellis Jr., and Carleton Ellis.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in Christ Chapel at Lutheran Social Services. The Rev. Daniel S. Rumfelt will officiate.

The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service Monday at the Lutheran Home Chapel.

Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery.
