Dirk W. Ness
Dirk W. Ness, 60, of Gilbert, Ariz., born in Bath, N.Y., on Nov. 30, 1953, formally of Rushville, N.Y., passed away Friday, May 16, 2014, in Gilbert, Ariz., after a courageous battle with cancer. Dirk was a gra-duate of Marcus Whitman High School, Gorham, N.Y., and was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp.
Dirk was employed for 28 1/2 years with McDonnell Douglas/Boeing in Gilbert, Ariz. He was the son of Richard E. and Jacqueline (Anderson) Ness of Jamestown, N.Y.
He is survived by a daughter, Jessica Ness of Gilbert, Ariz.; two brothers: Kim Ness (his caregiver) of Mesa, Ariz., and Tod Ness of Jamestown, N.Y.; a sister, Brooke Kelsey of Jamestown, N.Y.; and a niece, Heather Ness of Falconer, N.Y.
Dirk is also survived by his godmother, Carol (Ness) Damoth of Bath, N.Y.; an aunt, Kay Arrace of Sunset Beach, N.C.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Dirk was predeceased by his paternal grandparents: Dr. W.H. and Marrion (Babbit) Ness of Bath, N.Y.; maternal grandparents: Ralph (Biscuit) and Margit (Peg Sundeen) Anderson of Jamestown, N.Y.; and uncles: Cpt. W.H. Ness Jr., USMC, Ralph B. Ness of Trumansburg, N.Y., and Timothy Anderson of Downingtown, Pa.
Arrangements are by the Falconer Funeral Home in Gilbert, Ariz. Memorials can be made to the Ameri-can Lung Association.
