George A. Whitman
George A. Whitman, 84, of Memory Gardens, formerly of 23 Frew Run, Frewsburg, died Friday (Feb. 7, 2014) at WCA Hospital.
He was born March 25, 1929, in Jamestown, the son of Arthur and Ethel Sears Whitman.
In earlier years he had worked for The Post-Journal and later a self-employed painting contractor in the Jamestown area.
George was survived by several cousins: Griffin Smith of Frewsburg, Catherine Wilcox of Russell, Pa., Carol Corsaro of North Tonawanda, Joanne Spencer of Jamestown, Ellen Sears of Long Island, Betty Harrington of Warren, Pa., and Saundra Salerno of Fla.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in the Peterson Funeral Home, Frewsburg.
Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Frewsburg.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral Home.
