Marie T. McKinney

Marie T. McKinney, 88, of 2739 Mitchell Road Jamestown, N.Y., passed away Monday, Dec. 30, 2013, at the Rouse Home, Youngsville, Pa.

Marie was born in Corry, Pa., Dec. 26, 1925, the daughter of the late Charles and Twila Jewell.

She retired in 1992 from her employment at Lorangers in Warren, where she was employed as a foreman’s assistant/instructor.

She enjoyed reading, country music, shopping and spending time with her family and favorite pets. One of her favorite things to do was sunning on the deck and watching the horses and geese on the pond.

She was the widow of Robert McKinney Jr. She is survived by a daughter, Donna Messinger and a soninlaw, Sam Messinger of Jamestown, N.Y.; a son, Thomas VanOrd of Tennessee; two sisters: Charlotte Black of Youngsville, Pa., and Shirley Bull of Garland, Pa.; a brother, Edward Jewell of Wrightsville, Pa.; and several grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Leon VanOrd; a brother, David Jewell, and two sisters: Gladys Oviatt and Audrey Sickler.

Friends will be received on Thursday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at McKinney Funeral Homes and Cremation Services Inc. in Youngsville, where a funeral and committal service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 2, 2014.

Burial will be private and will be in North Harmony Cemetery Mayville, N.Y.
