Lillian Mae Neckers
Lillian Mae Neckers, best known as “Tillie,” was born Sept. 26, 1923, to John and Bessie Wiggers.
Tillie grew up in North Clymer, New York, with her parents, brothers and sisters, Paul, Gerald “Windy,” Marian “Neat,” Jeanette, and John “Speed.”
She graduated from Clymer Central School. She spent her time working at the little store in the garage in North Clymer, WCA and Clymer Bag Company.
Tillie married Glenn H. Neckers, Nov. 30, 1945, and moved to Clymer. Tillie and Glenn had two daughters, Ann and June.
She enjoyed her years raising the girls, working at the family business Neckers Co., baking (she loved to bake) gardening, (making strawberry jam and cucumber relish), entertaining family and friends at the cottage in Findley Lake, holidays, reunions, traveling, attending church at North Clymer, and especially liked golfing with her grandsons and June and Jack. She truly loved her family and friends.
Tillie spent her last few years living with her daughter, June in Florida.
She died peacefully at home in Florida on Dec. 4, 2013, she was reunited with Glenn (the love of her life), her parents, John and Bessie, her brothers Paul and Gerald ” Windy,” her sisters Neat and Jeanette, when her physical life ended.
Tillie was a member at the North Clymer United Methodist Church, American Legion Auxiliary, Clymer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and Bowling Leagues at Cutting Lanes.
Tillie will be missed by her daughters and sons-in-law, and grandsons. June Miller (Jack) Light-house Point, Fla.; Ann Weicht (Bill) Clymer, N.Y..; Mike Weicht, Clymer, N.Y.; Dr. Aaron Weicht, Sarasota, FL.; her brother John “Speed” Wiggers (Joanne), North Clymer, N.Y., and many nieces and nephews and friends.
Tillie will live on in our hearts and memories as an inspiration to all who knew her.
Memorials may be made in Tillie’s honor to the North Clymer United Methodist Church.
Local arrangements are being handled by the Spitzer Funeral Home, Clymer, N.Y.
