John E. Ettinger

He was born March 14, 1940, in Conneautville, Pa., the son of the late William and Florence Rasey Ettinger.

He was a veteran of the United States Air Force in the Vietnam War, having served two tours of duty. After the military he worked at Electric Materials in North East, Pa., until his retirement.

He was an avid hunter and a lifetime member of the North American Hunting Club.

John is survived by his wife of 51 years, Marjorie Tressler Ettinger, of Sherman, N.Y.; son, Jason (Kristina) Ettinger, North Tonawanda, N.Y.; daughter, Robin (John) Kelly, Ellington, N.Y.; grandchildren: William Ettinger, Kayli Stearns; sisters: Verna Wolfiel, Charlotte Maurice, Donna Ingram, Debbie Ettinger, Carol Ettinger, Barbara Johnson and Marie Jones.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Howard Ettinger.

Friends will be received at the Spitzer Funeral Home, Sherman, Friday, Nov. 29, 2013, from 68 p.m., and for one hour prior to the service Saturday at the funeral home.

The funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 30, 2013, at the funeral home.
