YWCA Lake Lodge’s future is uncertain

The future of the Young Women's Christian Association of Jamestown's Lake Lodge is uncertain.
The rental property at 185 E Terrace Ave, Lakewood, is no longer accepting reservations, and the YWCA has refunded all security deposits for upcoming scheduled events.
"We have refunded all security deposits and will no longer accept rental agreements," stated Amanda Gesing, executive director of the YWCA of Jamestown. "We don't want to leave anyone stranded, which is why we've issued refunds and have tried to give as much notice as possible.”
When asked about the future and the status of the Lake Lodge, Gesing said, "That's a board decision (YWCA Board of Directors) as to what we will be doing with the lodge."
Furthermore, the YWCA removed the Lake Lodge link from its official webpage, prompting more speculation and questions.
A quick look at the YWCA Lake Lodge Facebook pages shows the last updated post was on May 1, 2023. The Lake Lodge had functioned as a seasonal and year-round community space used for organization meetings, seasonal youth summer day camps, family-oriented events, educational gatherings and private rentals for events like weddings, graduation parties and reunions. The space features an air-conditioned building with a multi-purpose room, a full kitchen, restrooms with showers, a concrete patio, a wood deck, a playground, an outdoor fire pit and lakefront access for roughly 100 people.
"It's up to the board," Gesing reiterated about the lodge’s future.
