A Falconer man is facing a number of charges following an attempted burglary Friday afternoon. Jamestown police report Corry L. Decker, 26, was charged with second-degree burglary, third-degree grand larceny and tampering with physical evidence.
At 1:35 p.m., officers were dispatched to a westside address for a burglary in progress. It was reported a male subject had entered a residence while the homeowners were inside and stole a large quantity of cash. The subject then fled on foot before police arrived.
Officers located the male, who was later identified as Decker, a short distance away hiding in a gravel pit. As officers approached Decker, he was attempting to hide the stolen cash in the gravel, but it was all recovered.
Decker was taken into custody without further incident and transported to the city jail where he was being held pending arraignment.
