City man charged after threats with knife

A 38-year-old Jamestown man is facing numerous charges after threatening to kill two individuals on Saturday afternoon.

Angel A. Baez Huertas was charged with felony third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, two counts of second-degree menacing, second-degree criminal contempt and three counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

At approximately 4:40 p.m., officers of the Jamestown Police Department and New York State Police troopers responded to an address on the east side of the city for a reported person with a

weapon. Upon arrival, officers secured the scene and located Baez Huertas. Further investigation revealed that Baez Huertas had allegedly menaced two individuals with a knife and threatened to kill them during a domestic incident in the presence of three children. Officers also confirmed that Baez Huertas was the subject of an active order of protection involving one of the children present during the incident.

Baez Huertas was subsequently taken into custody on scene and transported to the Jamestown City Jail where he was being held pending arraignment.
