FALCONER – Dark gray smoke darkened the sky over Falconer on Friday afternoon as firefighters fought a fire at JMI’s 1946 New York Ave., Falconer, concrete facility, around 1:26 p.m.
JMI is the largest, family owned producer of ready-mix concrete in Chautauqua County. Firefighters from at least Falconer and Gerry responded to the fire as well as Jamestown Board of Public Utilities crews, the Chautauqua County Technical Rescue team and Ellicott police officers.
An hour later, the Chautauqua County Fire Investigation Team was requested to the scene for an origin and cause fire investigation. No injuries were reported, although the building appears to be a complete loss.
At this time the fire is still under investigation.
