A Tennessee man has died after an commercial vehicle accident on the New York State Thruway in the town of Hanover.
New York State Police report at 10:05 p.m. Monday, they responded to a single commercial vehicle collision on the eastbound lanes on Interstate 90. An investigation determined that a 2020 Volvo OTR with a 53-foot trailer exited the road on the north shoulder striking a guide rail. The operator, Petros D. Liben, 54 of Bartlett, Tenn., had injuries to his face and abdomen. Liben was airlifted to Erie County Medical Center in Buffalo where he succumbed to his injuries.
New York State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Unit, Collision Reconstruction Unit, Bureau of Criminal Investigation and DEC Spill Response Unit responded to the scene.
