Eyeing retirement, Belle-View East to close July 31

FALCONER – A staple of downtown Falconer is closing its doors for good on July 31.
Gary Visosky, owner of the Belle-View East, 7 Main St., Falconer, will close his restaurant at the end of the month after a suitable buyer could not be found.
"Mr. Gary Visosky ... would like to thank all his friends, family, loyal customers and anyone who has helped keep the Belle-View East in business for the last 30-some-odd years," Visosky said in a note sent to The Post-Journal. ""After much consideration we have decided to close our doors. Friday, July 31 will be our last day of business.
If you have a gift certificate now would be the time to redeem it. Hopefully we will have the meal you were wanting, but the menu may be limited."
Before owning this location in Falconer, Visosky previously owned the business on Foote Avenue in Jamestown. Visosky owned the Foote Avenue restaurant for 10 years before selling it and purchasing the Falconer location, he stated. Before stepping into the world of restaurant ownership Visosky worked for UPS for 25 years, before retiring and continuing to devote his efforts towards a passion. Even though Visosky retired at 50, he has certainly remained busy with the dedication to working.
Visosky announced in February that the restaurant was for sale. Visosky still works daily at the restaurant after 34 years of ownership. Visosky gave thanks earlier this year to employees who have helped to keep the great status of the restaurant, specially referencing a manager that has been by his side since the initial purchase of the Foote Avenue location. Since then, Visosky noted that this manager has been through 44 years of restaurant ownership with him. The manager would even help Visosky write the announcement that the restaurant will be going up for sale. Visosky hopes to take this retirement time to relax and enjoy time with family, including his seven great-grandchildren. Additionally, Visosky gave thanks to his good health for enabling him to work for such a long time, allowing the restaurant to be built to what it is now.
"In September, Mr. Visosky will be turning 85 years old and would like to retire," the note said. "Hopefully someone in the future will consider opening a restaurant in the same location. But for now – farewell. Thank you for many happy memories and we will see you around the neighborhood."
