Two people are dead after a shooting incident outside UPMC Chautauqua. The hospital was on lockdown Wednesday afternoon while police investigated the incident.
At 2:10 p.m. Wednesday, Jamestown police officers responded to the UPMC Chautauqua campus for a report of two people unresponsive in a vehicle. Through investigation it was determined that the two people in the vehicle were deceased. There was a heavy police presence around the hospital for much of the afternoon, with traffic blocked on Prather Avenue from Foote Avenue to Sherman Street and the entrance into the hospital’s emergency room also blocked.
“There are no signs of foul play and there is no threat to the public as a result of this incident and the investigation is ongoing,” the department said in a news release.
