August benefit to raise money for longtime Falconer bus driver

The name and face of Roger Lampman is one that is most likely familiar to many in the village of Falconer, where he has served as a bus driver for the school district for over 20 years.
Now, Lampman is looking to his community for help as he battles stage four prostate cancer.
A benefit is set for Lampman on Aug. 16 from noon to 4 p.m. at the Celoron American Legion, 26 Jackson Ave., Celoron. A spaghetti dinner will be provided by Brothers By Choice, with music by Dark Rock And Roll Roots Rhythm. There will also be a 50/50 raffle, basket raffles and a bake sale. Donations are being accepted and can be made in many forms, including physical merchandise, food or baked goods, gift certificates for products and/or services, and monetary donations. Basket donations for the auction are asked to be submitted by August 12. Donations may be dropped off or mailed to Falconer community member and one of the event organizers, Amanda Echard, at 1392 Route 394, Falconer.
"Roger has been a bus driver in Falconer for over 20 years," Echard said. "He has supported the students in this area and is a strong community member. He not only supports the school but the community he lives in as well, and is known for being kind and always willing to help others."
All donations and funding will go towards Lampman's ability to travel for appointments along with other medical and monetary needs. Lampman is also a member of the Eagle Club.
"We greatly appreciate any support you can help give Roger during this time," Echard said.
