Post-Journal invites community to celebrate milestone

The Post-Journal is inviting readers, subscribers, and community members to join in a special celebration marking the newspaper’s 200th anniversary.

To commemorate two centuries of serving the region with trusted local news, The Post-Journal will welcome visitors to its offices for an open-house celebration featuring complimentary anniversary cake and a free advance copy of the newspaper’s historic 200th-anniversary special section.

The special section chronicles the rich history of The Post-Journal and its predecessor publications, highlighting significant moments in local history, memorable headlines, community milestones, and the evolution of journalism over the past two centuries.

“This anniversary is not only a celebration of our newspaper’s history, but also of the generations of readers, advertisers, employees, and community members who have supported local journalism throughout the years,” said Publisher Mike Bird “We are excited to share this milestone with the community that has made it possible.”

Guests will have the opportunity to pick up an advance copy of the commemorative section while supplies last and enjoy a slice of cake as the newspaper reflects on 200 years of informing, connecting, and serving the community.

The Post-Journal traces its roots to 1826 and has remained dedicated to providing local news, sports, features, and community coverage that matters to residents throughout the region.

Community members are encouraged to stop by, celebrate this historic occasion, and join The Post-Journal in honoring 200 years of local journalism.
