FALCONER – Falconer firefighters, with support from Kennedy firefighters, put out a fire at 322 E. Elmwood Ave., Falconer, on Sunday afternoon.
According to the fire department, crews made quick work and limited the amount of fire spread, but heat and smoke damage was found throughout the house. The Chautauqua County Fire Investigation Team was called to determine the cause and origin of the fire.
Scanner reports indicated fire had been seen in the kitchen, with firefighters saying smoke was coming from multiple windows when they arrived on the scene.
Members of the Falconer Junior Falcons Football and Cheerleading program issued a call on Facebook Sunday night asking for help with baby girl clothes and men’s and women’s clothing, with organizers saying the family had received enough bottles, diapers and baby wipes as of Monday afternoon. Those who want to contribute to a Venmo fund can visit the post on the Falconer Jr. Falcons Football and Cheer Program’s page.
A Go Fund Me has also been established at https://tinyurl.com/t8bk3vss. The fund, organized by a family friend, had raised $3,875 of its $6,500 goal through Monday afternoon.

“Anyone who knows them knows how loving, kind, and generous they are,” wrote Jessica Sorbino, the fund’s creator. “Right now, they need the support of their friends, family, and community more than ever. I started this fundraiser to help them replace some of their immediate needs and essentials for the kids as they begin to rebuild.”
