Chautauqua’s Got Talent isn’t just about winning.
“It’s about growth,” said Co-Producer Angelo Valentino. “It’s about giving performers a real stage, real expectations, real mentoring, and a real audience. For 16 years, we’ve watched people discover confidence, sharpen their craft, and sometimes even launch the next chapter of their artistic journey. That’s what makes this event special.”
CGT will return this spring for its 16th season at The Spire Theater, 317 E. Third St., and continue its tradition of showcasing local and regional performers in a live competition format.
Valentino added that the family-oriented competition provides contestants of all ages the opportunity to perform in front of a live, voting audience while receiving feedback from judges and guidance from experienced professionals. In addition to weekly performances, contenders will participate in mentoring sessions with local and regional entertainment professionals designed to help elevate their stage presence, performance choices, and overall artistry.
A $1,000 grand prize will be awarded to this year’s winner.
Contestants may submit a video audition through the official online registration form or attend live auditions at The Spire Theater on Sunday, March 1 at 7 p.m., Valentino said. Live auditions are required only for those who do not submit a video audition. Auditions are not open to the public.
A mandatory orientation meeting for all contestants will be held Sunday, March 15 at 7 p.m.
The live competition will take place on Mondays at 7 p.m. on March 30, April 13, and April 20. Semi-finals will be held April 27, and the finale will be held May 4.
The event is sponsored by The Post-Journal and WWSE SE93. People interested in competing may click the sign up button at the top of the Chautauqua’s Got Talent Facebook page for registration information.
