The building of an extermination company in Northern Chautauqua County has changed ownership.

The Post-Journal and OBSERVER have been analyzing real estate sales in Chautauqua County and recently looked at the transactions from Nov. 17-20.

During this time period, 218-220 West Fifth St., Dunkirk was sold to HB Properties 220, LLC for $230,000. This is listed as one of the addresses of Amherst Exterminators. The company has additional offices in Amherst, Buffalo, Grand Island, Hamburg and West Seneca.

Also during this time period, two more residences in Chautauqua Institution were sold for more than $1 million apiece.

2 Elm Lane was sold for $2,650,000 and 83 Pratt Ave. was sold for $1.1 million. These two sales bring the total to 10 properties that were sold in Chautauqua Institution for more than $1 million in 2025.

Including the sales previously mentioned, from Nov. 17-20 there were 13 sales that were higher than $250,000. The remaining top sales are as follows:

– 86 Hedding Ave., Chautauqua town was sold for $999,000.

– 112 Johnson St., Fredonia was sold for $774,900.

– 9717 Dye Road, Villenova was sold for $490,000.

– 37 Scott Ave., Chautauqua Institution was sold for $465,000.

– 2420 Shadyside Road, Mina was sold for $368,900.

– 4312 Cobb Road, Gerry was sold for $320,000.

– 16 Rowley Center, Celoron was sold for $275,000.

– 18 Chautauqua Escapes, North Harmony was sold for $270,000.

– 9384 South Swede Road, Portland was sold for $270,000.

– 6032 Rt. 5, Portland was sold for $262,500.

– 2131 Marks Road, Mina was sold for $260,000.
