A private home in Chautauqua Institution was sold in late October for more than $1 million.

The Post-Journal and OBSERVER have been analyzing real estate sales in Chautauqua County and recently looked at the transactions from Oct. 27-31.

During this time period, 18 Ames Ave., Chautauqua Institution was sold for $1,150,000. This is the eighth time this year a property has been sold in the Institution for seven figures.

Including the sale previously mentioned, from Oct. 27-31 there were 14 sales that were $250,000 or higher. The remaining top sales in the county are as follows:

– Four parcels on Harrington Hill Road, French Creek sold for $700,000. Two of the parcels total 181 acres of land. The two remaining parcels do not list a land total on the county GIS page.

– 37 Scott St., Chautauqua Institution sold for $650,000.

– 1070 Shady Drive, Hanover sold for $540,000.

– Seven parcels on Waits Corners Road, Sherman sold for $500,000. Five of the seven parcels total 269 acres of land. The two remaining parcels do not list a land total on the county GIS page.

– 10348 Chestnut Road, Pomfret sold for $494,900.

– 5616 Stow Road, North Harmony sold for $480,000.

– 5 Ventura Circle, Fredonia sold for $417,500.

– 11867 Bennett State Road, Hanover sold for $400,000.

– 123 Central Ave., Fredonia sold for $360,000.

– 11 Valley View Drive, Frewsburg sold for $350,000.

– 265 Big Tree Sugar Grove Road, Busti sold for $315,000.

– 30 Peerless St., Brocton sold for $277,750.

– 5621 Rt. 474, Ashville sold for $261,500.
