Rotary Club Makes Donations

The Greater Jamestown AM Rotary Club recently donated to two local organizations that help combat hunger amid the SNAP delay that impacted thousands of local individuals and families.

The club provided support to the food pantry at the Salvation Army of Jamestown that serves 2,100 families each month.

During the SNAP delay the food pantry reported that they registered 20 new families and an overall influx of utilization that depleted their food reserves.

The AM Rotary also provided money to the Jamestown Farmers Market for its SNAP voucher program.

Upon completion of the program, any leftover money from the club will be used to support a new farm share program specifically designed for SNAP recipients. Both farmers market SNAP programs provide fresh produce to offset food insecurity and benefit local farmers.

Starting at $3.50/week.
