Pumpkintown has shuttered its operations and is scheduled to be sold at auction.
In a recent FaceBook post, Marshall and Sarah Minor, and Jason and Nicole Genberg said their families have decided to move on from the seasonal business, located at 3535 Baker St., ext., in the town of Busti.
Sarah who with her husband, Marshall, and her brother, Jason, and his wife Nicole own the business.
“This decision did not come easily,” the post read. “Most know going into starting a small business, that it is not for the faint of heart. Pumpkintown has been a labor of love from the very beginning. Hours spent brainstorming and dreaming of what these acres could become.
Months of planning and preparation. Years of trial and error that led us to a business we felt proud to offer to our community after eight seasons.”

The fall attraction opened in 2018, and has welcomed many visitors to enjoy the season.
“We’ve managed to add on each year and expand in leaps and bounds from where we started our first season,” the post continued. “We have been fortunate enough to work with the best staff – some of which worked all eight seasons with us from start to finish. Strangers who have since become friends and family.”
Due to time constraints, and family commitments, the post said, moving on from Pumpkintown is bittersweet would be an understatement.
“We have come to a point in our lives where our family needs us more. While we have watched our business grow, our children have also grown alongside it,” the post continued. “With every year, the weight of our time spent away from our own has taken its toll. It is with family, and the precious nature of time in mind, that we have made the decision to sell our business.”
The Minors are very grateful for the time that they had Pumpkintown, and thanked their many visitors throughout the years, according to the post.

“Thank you especially to our visitors, to all of the families who brought our dream to life, (and) for the joy you gave us by simply being there. It’s impossible to sum up what it has meant in a few words. … Just know we are so very grateful.”
Peterson’s Auction and Realty will be handling the sale of Pumpkintown.
