BEMUS POINT – The honors keep coming for the owners of the Bemus Point Golf Club and Tap House.

The Bemus Point Village Board has presented a proclamation to owners Bryce and Rachel Steffan as a celebration of the organization being named 2025 business of the year by the Chautauqua County Chamber of Commerce.

The proclamation was presented at the most recent Village Board meeting by village Mayor Jeffrey Molnar. The organization was announced as the winner at the chamber’s Business Awards Banquet on Oct. 2. Molnar said he was thrilled to present the proclamation to further recognize the important contributions from the business to the community.

“Small businesses are the lifeboat of local communities; fueling growth, innovation, and creating jobs. Whereas the Bemus Point Golf Club and Tap House has been a vibrant thread in the tapestry of the village of Bemus Point; weaving economic prosperity, social cohesion, and cultural richness,” said Molnar.

Molnar said the Steffens have been active members within the community, who have welcomed families with a comfortable place to gather or visit since 2017. Molar noted the Steffens show generosity to the community by hosting various events and benefits. As a result of all of the contributions to the village, the Steffens have earned the proclamation, according to Molnar.

The Steffens took on ownership of the organization on Sept. 1, 2017 and reopened the business in May 2018 following the completion of numerous renovations. Both owners have grown up in the nearby area, with Bryce Steffan a Bemus Point native and Rachel Steffan originally from Ellicottville. Bryce Steffan’s father was a frequent visitor of the golf club, having been long remembered due to playing 180 holes in a single day.

“We have the drive to be community-oriented and a four-season destination,” said Steffen. “We’re grateful for the support of our neighbors and friends, and are committed to creating a place where everyone feels welcome.”

Starting at $3.50/week.
