FALCONER – A new business will be coming to the Village of Falconer after undergoing a necessary relocation due to an increase in staff size and the amount of business the company is handling
EB Roofing and Renovations will be located at 223 W. Main St. in Falconer, formerly the James B. Schwab Co. The relocation comes due to an expansion of employees for the company due to the growth of job opportunities presented to the company. As a result of this they will be able to undertake a much larger quantity of tasks for the remainder of this year.
“Our crew pretty much doubled in size and the workload is about to double in size this year, so we needed something bigger,” according to company owner Nick Bennett.
Bennett said the company had previously operated out of a garage in Jamestown that was significantly smaller, only allowing the company to store some materials and trailers. With such a large expansion, the number of materials the company will need to store will only continue to increase, furthering the need for a larger facility.
Finding a larger facility proved to be quite challenging for the business though, as a decline in large industry in the area has left many of the well-kept warehouses under tight competition from these types of companies, Bennett said.
“We just really never had a warehouse before, so we got the point we needed a bigger space and that’s pretty much one of the only buildings on the market, so it worked out good for us,” Bennet said.
Such a large new influx of business may be partially due to the company’s expansion of services, with the company doing work for roofs but also siding as of this year. The company also performs roof rejuvenations, a more cost effective way to get more lifespan out of a roof, according to Bennett. A rejuvenation is performed with a spray-on solution, which contains an oil that is absorbed into the shingles, effectively making them like new again by repairing the shingles strength and water resistant properties.
