In response to the buffet being discontinued, Sue Bigler and Joe Brzezowski organized a group of supporters to visit the buffet to show their support. Bigler stated there was an “overwhelming response in support of the owners and staff of Shur Fine,” with 50 people visiting the local business on a recent Saturday afternoon to support the buffet, Shur Fine employees and their manager.

The support was so strong that a limit had to be set at 50 guests because of capacity and seating concerns. Shur Fine is interested in providing another buffet for guests who missed the event to attend at a later date.

“We’re hoping that we have shown Tammy and her staff that there are many folks out there who support them and who enjoy more variety in their dining menus, including delicious Indian cuisine,” Bigler said. “We hope they will continue building up their business and resume their special Indian food offerings.”

Prior to the buffet, an appreciation day was organized in which folks were encouraged to support the store through purchases and by signing a card.

The Shur Fine staff thanked the organizers of the event for their support and generosity with a pizza.

Shur Fine also recently received support from the Cassadaga Village Board, as Trustees Cindy Flaherty and Cathy Cruver spoke up at a recent Board meeting against the hateful remarks the business received. Flaherty said of her community, “We are better than that.”

The support that the business has received in recent weeks proves Flaherty right.

“Thank you so much to the wonderful community of Cassadaga for coming in our support. We really appreciate you all. Your kindness means a lot,” Cassadaga Shurfine stated on Facebook.

Cassadaga Shur Fine has offered to prepare its Indian cuisine as a special order with a day’s notice. Orders can be made by calling the store at 716-595-3232.
