CHAUTAUQUA — The search for a missing swimmer will resume Sunday morning.

At around 4:40 p.m. Saturday, the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call reporting a missing male swimmer on Chautauqua Lake near Chautauqua Institution. The Chautauqua County Water Emergency Team, Sheriff’s Department Marine Patrol along with several fire departments responded to the area and began a search.

The swimmer was not located, and crews paused the efforts due to darkness. The search will resume on Sunday. Additional information will be released at a later time.
