Frewsburg Superintendent, Maintenance Director Suspended

FREWSBURG – The superintendent of the Frewsburg Central School District (FCSD) and the district’s maintenance director are currently on paid suspension while an investigation by the Board of Education takes place.

During a special meeting of the school board on Friday, held in the school library at 26 Institute St., Frewsburg, the Board of Education convened for an executive session. Upon concluding the session, the BOE emerged to vote unanimously in favor of suspending the district’s Superintendent, Dr. Danielle Cook, and John McLaughlin, district buildings and grounds maintenance supervisor.

Both suspensions will be with pay, while the investigation is ongoing.

The board has appointed Tiffany Frederes as the acting superintendent , unanimously confirming her temporary leadership position.

“At this time, we are unable to provide comments regarding these ongoing investigations,” said Carrie Graham, Frewsburg school board vice president.

Friday’s special meeting was the second special meeting featuring a lengthy executive session this week.

Cook, Ph.D., as the district’s new superintendent. Cook comes to Frewsburg after a stint as superintendent of the Randolph Academy Union Free School District and a principal at Panama Central School.

As a graduate of Penn State Behrend in 2010, Cook earned her B.A. in psychology and earned a M.Ed. in Educational Psychology and Ed.S. in School Psychology from Edinboro University. In 2014, Cook began her role as a Panama Central School District school psychologist.

Cook, a native of the Greater Pittsburgh area, lives in Warren, Pa., with her husband and three children.
