A new pizza restaurant has opened in the city of Jamestown, one that looks to offer people an option for a quick bite to eat, while also welcoming them in to make them feel like they are at home.

Located at 104 North Main St., “A Slice Of Home” is owned and operated by Nick Rein, who said he decided he wanted to open a pizza place in the city to offer people something different.

“I think Jamestown needed something like this, somewhere where you can come in and get a quick bite to eat,” Rein said. “You can come in and get a slice of pizza and be out the door in a couple of minutes.”

“A Slice of Home” officially opened on April 17, and so far Rein said business has been steady, with the restaurant set to offer late night Fridays and Saturdays now too, where they are open until 3 a.m., beginning May 9. The business is closed on Mondays and is open Tuesdays through Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Fridays 11 a.m. to 3 a.m., Saturdays 4 p.m. to 3 a.m. and Sundays 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Menu items for “A Slice of Home” range from full size pizzas, slices of pizzas, multiple appetizers such as french fries, garlic knots, and more, along with specialty pizzas, chicken wings, subs, wraps, drinks, dessert and combo specials.

Rein said so far they have had typical restaurant growing pains such as not enough products or the need to hire more employees. He said his main goal for his restaurant is to make everyone feel welcome and like a family.

“We’re all a family in Jamestown and I’m very family oriented,” Rein said. “I want people to come in here and feel like they’re part of the family. I want to know everybody’s name that comes through that door and it’s very important to me that everyone feels like home when they come here.”

The community also means a lot to Rein, and he said as a resident of Jamestown he looks to give back to the community as much as he can. While he said they will possibly make mistakes, they will make up for them as best as they can, praising his staff for all of the work that they do.

“I have a great staff who work very hard to make everyone’s experience a good one,” Rein said. “I wouldn’t be where I am without the people who work for me, and my family too.”
