Farmer Brown’s BBQ To Add Ice Cream Factory To Offerings
LAKEWOOD — The local summer food business, Farmer Brown’s BBQ has expanded into more foods that are fit for the summer season, now offering ice cream in a second trailer next to the main one.
“We are an outdoor summer business and ice cream goes good with an outdoor barbecue establishment,” Jeremy Hirliman, owner of Farmer Brown’s said.
Located at 275 East Fairmount Avenue, Farmer Brown’s new trailer will be known as Farmer Brown’s Ice Cream Factory and is set to be open daily Monday through Friday 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from noon to 9 p.m.
Farmer Brown’s Ice Cream Factory will be offering hand-dipped ice cream from Ashby’s Sterling premier ice cream company. Hirliman said they will have milkshakes, arctic swirls, sundaes and more to offer.
“People can now come and enjoy a refreshing ice cream cone at Farmer Brown’s,” Hirliman said.
Hirliman added that the Ice Cream Factory has been open for about a week. He invited everyone to come out and experience it for themselves.
The decision to add on to the original Farmer Brown’s BBQ business came from wanting to expand into more offerings after being open for 11 summers this year. Farmer Brown’s Ice Cream Factory sits back behind the existing trailer and can blend in, so Hirliman said he wanted to make sure people know it is there and can come and check it out.
“We have a friendly atmosphere and offer a local, unique, outdoor eating experience,” he said.
