Evan Nix

A Jamestown man wanted for felony gun possession has been found in Ohio.

Evan Nix, 37, was found Friday in Wooster, Ohio, with assistance from the U.S. Marshal Service Fugitive Task Force and the Wooster Police Department in Ohio. Nix had been listed as one of the Jamestown Police Department’s Top 10 Most Wanted list for the past several months.

Nix was extradited back to Jamestown and was arraigned Saturday in Jamestown City Court. He was taken to the Chautauqua County Jail and held without bail. Nix is expected to be back in Jamestown City Court for a felony hearing later this week.

Jamestown City Court had issued an arrest warrant for Nix after he was charged in 2023 with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon after he was found during a traffic stop in possession of a loaded firearm. Nix is a convicted felon.
