UPDATE: Three Charged After City Police Search Forest Ave. Home Monday

Three Jamestown residents face charges after a drug raid at 341 Forest Ave., upper apartment, on Monday.

Members of the Jamestown Metro Drug Task Force and the Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at about 12:20 p.m. with assistance from the Jamestown Police Department SWAT team. Officers found three people – Gerald A. Samuels, 18, of Jamestown, Janya L. Samuels, 19, of Jamestown, and Simeon J. Leeper, 21, of Jamestown – inside the apartment along with a 2-year-old child.

According to a police report, detectives searched the property and found 12.3 grams of crack cocaine in the kitchen. Gerald Samuels, Janya Samuels and Leeper were each charged and taken to the city jail, where Gerald Samuels was then allegedly found in possession of 9.2 grams of fentanyl. He was charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and endangering the welfare of a child. Janya Samuels and Leeper were charged with endangering the welfare of a child. All were taken to the city jail until they could be arraigned in Jamestown City Court. Leeper, according to the police report, is on parole through New York state.

The Jamestown Police Department was assisted by the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, Dunkirk Police Department and Jamestown Fire Department.
