Fans of the 2013 science fiction horror film “Ombis: Alien Invasion” have been waiting years for a sequel. This sequel, “Ombis: Alien Invasion 2” has just wrapped up filming in Buffalo, and one of the main stars of the movie is Jamestown native Paige Cummings.
Cummings began her acting career around the age of five when she joined the Lucille Ball Little Theatre’s Children Sing and Junior Guilders programs. She continued acting with the theater throughout her time in high school at Maple Grove, eventually winning Kennedies for Best Supporting Actress in “Grease” and “Anything Goes”. She has also participated in films as a part of the 24 Hour Insomniac Festival. She graduated from Baldwin Wallace University, and moved to Los Angeles to continue to pursue her acting career in August 2021.
“I started with the Junior Guilders because I was an extroverted child,” Cummings said. “I caught the bug and I loved it. I knew it was what I wanted to do. As a senior in high school I thought there was no way I could make it a career, but then I found and auditioned for many different acting programs and eventually ended up at Baldwin Wallace.”
Cummings’s past works include a web series with Barry Myer called “My Dance Vlog Is Haunted”, and other professional theater work, including Shakespeare and being on tour as a part of “Charlotte’s Web” and “Charlie Brown”. Cummings has done commercials in LA and a few short films, and was a court player in “Justice With Judge Ebony Williams”.
“Ombis: Alien Invasion 2” will be Cummings’s first feature film. Filming took place in Buffalo from June 14 to 20, allowing Cummings to return to the area for a time. She said the filming went very well.

“It was a great experience and I learned a lot,” Cummings said. “It was primarily done on blue screen so it was a challenge to work with a blank slate and add in everything else after. It was a lot of fun and I got to work with some great people.”
“Ombis: Alien Invasion 2” is a sequel to the original 2013 film, where an alien invasion has taken over the world. In the second film, Cummings’s character, Haley Greenhart, sets out to expose the truth about the government covering up what really happened during the invasion. The movie is set to be released in June 2025.
In the future, after returning to LA in the coming weeks, Cummings has more work and auditions planned, including working on a short film with her friend that she wrote. This short is a horror sorority film, set to begin shooting in October.
“I’m excited to be both on the acting and shooting side of that,” Cummings said.
Filming her first feature film means a lot to Cummings, especially as it allowed her to come back to Western New York.

“It means a lot in terms of the growth of my career,” Cummings said. “It means I am headed in the right direction. It was special to be back in Western New York to film. It helped me get more comfortable on a set and with what I was doing.”
