Smiles On Parade In City

The threat of inclement weather didn’t put a damper on Monday’s Memorial Day Parade in Jamestown. Hundreds of people lined numerous streets as police, firefighters, elected officials and local organizations marched. The parade, organized by Collaborative Children’s Solutions, began at Baker Park and ended with a ceremony at Lake View Cemetery. Due to expected storms Monday morning, a handful of children’s groups scheduled to take part in the parade sat out in an abundance of caution. Jamestown’s annual Memorial Day Parade was one of several to march on despite the threat of bad weather for much of the morning. The annual cemetery ceremony was held by the local Blue Star Mothers chapter.
