In a night filled with unforgettable performances, Angel Busch emerged as the winner of Chautauqua’s Got Talent.

Monday’s grand finale, held at The Spire Theater, was a red-carpet affair that showcased the incredible talent of the top contestants, but it was Angel’s performance of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow,” that truly stole the show.

From the moment Angel took the stage, there was a palpable sense of anticipation in the air. Dressed elegantly and exuding confidence, she began her performance with a quiet intensity that quickly grew into a powerful and emotional delivery. Her voice, clear and resonant, captured the essence of the classic song, bringing new life to its timeless lyrics.

Audience members were mesmerized as Angel’s vocals soared effortlessly, each note imbued with emotion and sincerity. Her rendition of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” was not just a performance – it transported everyone in the theater to a place of dreams and possibilities. The depth of feeling in her voice truly resonated with the audience.

The competition was fierce, with each finalist bringing their best to the stage: Marley Ohl’s fun and nostalgic singing and guitar skills; Daughters of Thunder’s youthful voices; and Dewayne Moore’s heartwarming presence were standout performances of the night. But in the end, it was Angel’s unique ability to connect with the audience on such a profound level that set her apart.

After all the finalists had performed, there was an intermission during which the audience cast their votes. During second half of the show there was a spectacular variety show, featuring duets among past and present contestants, group numbers, and special guest performances. Last year’s winner and current stage manager, Derik Davis, delivered a show-stopping performance. There were even performances by judges and producers of the show.

When the moment finally arrived to announce the winner, the theater fell silent. As Angel’s name was called, the crowd erupted with applause and cheers. Overcome with emotion, Angel accepted her prize with tears of joy streaming down her face. She thanked the judges, her fellow contestants, and the audience members for their unwavering support.

“I am so incredibly grateful for this experience,” Angel said. “Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”

Angel’s CGT victory was a testament to her exceptional talent and the power of music to touch the soul.

Congratulations to Angel, and to all the contestants who shared their incredible talents with us. It was a night of dreams, magic, and unforgettable music, reminding us of the beauty that lies “somewhere over the rainbow.”
