Demolition has begun on the former Friendly’s Restaurant in Brooklyn Square. After Friendly’s closed, the building was reopened as Jimmy’s Family Restaurant for a few months before it, too, closed. The building has been vacant since 2019. Late last year Jamestown Planning Commission members approved a site plan to demolish the existing building to put up a bigger Tim Horton’s location owned by Blake Tarana. The new restaurant is expected to open later this year.
