Weapons, Drugs Lead To Charges For City Pair

A pair of city residents are facing drug charges after fentanyl, crack cocaine, other drugs and weapons were found in a residence Friday morning.

Santos I. Santiago, 48, and Anabell Santiago, 51, were charged after members of the Jamestown Metro Drug Task Force and Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force executed a narcotics search warrant by conducting a traffic stop and simultaneously making entry into the residence located at 38 Whitley Ave. with assistance from the Jamestown Police Department SWAT Team.

Both were detained from the traffic stop and two children were located inside of the residence by the SWAT Team. After the residence was secured, detectives searched the residence and persons and located 109.3 grams of fentanyl, 11.3 grams of crack cocaine, digital scales for weighing the drugs, packaging materials used for distributing the drugs, $30,369 in currency believed to be profits from selling the drugs, and two handguns – one of which was reported stolen. Santos I. Santiago and Anabell Santiago were transported to the Jamestown City Jail.

Santos Santiago is charged with one count of second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, two counts of second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia, two counts of criminal possession of a firearm, and one count of fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property.

Anabell Santiago was additionally found to be in possession of a switchblade knife and a quantity of oxycodone pills and is charged with second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, two counts of second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia, two counts of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon,

fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

The Jamestown Police Department was assisted by the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, the Dunkirk Police Department, Chautauqua County Emergency Services Tac Meds, and Jamestown Fire Department.
