A vacant craft beer restaurant in downtown Jamestown may soon have a new owner.

Robert Roth, who owns and operates Wicked Warren’s in Warren, Pa. wants to purchase the former Jamestown Brewing Company facility at 115-121 W. 3rd St. and call it “Wicked Jimmy’s.”

Roth said this Jamestown location will give him a lot more options than he has in his current establishment. “I told the Loan Committee, I’m really tired of saying no in Warren, Pennsylvania. We have to say ‘No, we don’t have Jack Daniels’ or ‘No, we don’t handle Jack and Chardonnay’ because we can only sell Pennsylvania liquors and wine,” he said to IDA board members.

His Warren location is tight on space as well. “We’re always getting sold out there. People are coming in the door but we don’t have any place to seat them. This complex, being almost 35,000 square feet, gives us plenty of options for seating and dining,” he said.

In Warren, Roth said they have a three-barrel system. In Jamestown he’s looking to have a 20-barrel system. “That will give us the option to distribute to your local bars and restaurants where we can’t do that now,” he said.

The total cost of the project is $2.35 million and would result in the creation of 40 jobs. The county IDA agreed to a $950,000 loan at 4% interest rate for 20 years.

Roth is also looking for funding from banks and other agencies. The IDA loan is contingent upon him securing the additional funding.

He would like to open in March.

“We’ve done considerable planning and are looking forward to getting this business up and running as soon as possible,” Roth said at the Chautauqua County Industrial Development Agency meeting Tuesday. “Once open and operational, Wicked Jimmy’s will brew craft beer, serve food, and host corporate meetings and ballroom events. It will also provide live music, feature a ‘Speak Easy Room,’ and in the future open a rooftop bar. Our goal is to make 119 West 3rd St, Jamestown’s premier entertainment destination.”
